Legislative Priorities

State Bank
- Empowering Washington wallets.
  - Financing is the cornerstone of every action we take as a state government. The Washington State Public Bank would follow a proven model to give our communities the tools they need to invest in a brighter future.
  - Smart use of taxpayer’s hard earned dollars for the benefit of Washington State, not Wall Street.
Access to Healthcare
- Healthcare infrastructure, accessibility, and insurance.
  - Healthcare is a human right. Washington leads the nation on children’s healthcare access and reproductive rights, and I’m working with key stakeholders to establish universal healthcare here as well.
  - No one should go bankrupt or homeless because of healthcare costs lining corporate coffers.
Housing
- A housing market for all.
  - Housing is a human right, and access to housing for all is our collective responsibility. We can choose to create a Washington in which our children and grandchildren can live and own a home. A well-thought-out social housing program can address this issue.
  - Housing is a prerequisite to general health and well-being.
Homelessness
- Prevention and services save lives.
  - I’m dedicated to expanding access to behavioral and mental health support for all, but we also must keep people in their current homes and increase housing security. This is especially true for renters, who have less housing stability than homeowners. Social housing can address this issue.
  - Homelessness is an observable measure of the state of our civil society.
Public Safety
- Safe and walkable communities for everyone.
  - I’m committed to making our communities safer and preventing violence, abuse, and oppressiveness in all its forms. My role as a legislator is to address the needs of our community with data-backed solutions that preserve safety for us all. This means minimizing traffic violence and ensuring our community has accessible and stable services.
