Tuesday marks day 30, the halfway point of the 2022 legislative session. The action picks up in week 5 with fiscal committee cutoff at the end of the day today, followed by floor action Tuesday through Saturday ahead of house of origin cutoff on Tuesday, February 15.

The Law & Justice Committee will hear public testimony on bills recently passed by the House aimed at strengthening and clarifying Washington’s police accountability laws. House Bill 1719, concerning the use and acquisition of military equipment by law enforcement agencies, and HB 1735, which modifies the use of force standard, will be among the bills considered. HB 1719 received unanimous support, while HB 1735 passed 90-5. Watch on TVW.
TRANSPORTATION INVESTMENT PACKAGE

Senate Transportation Chair Marko Liias, Vice Chair Rebecca Saldaña and Sen. Emily Randall will be joined by House Transportation leaders to announce details of a transportation investment package and the benefits those investments will have on job creation, the environment and transportation projects throughout our state.
