I could be biased, but I can say with near certainty Washington is the country’s most beautiful state.
My suspicion was confirmed again on my recent trip to Palouse Falls in Whitman County — designated as our state’s official waterfall by the Legislature in 2014. My trip to beautiful Palouse Falls got me thinking about other destinations in our state, particularly Washington’s state parks.
No matter where you live or travel in Washington, chances are one of our 140 state parks, historic sites, trails or marine parks will be close by. If you’re not sure, you can locate parks here. For us living in Snohomish County, Mount Pilchuck State Park in Granite Falls and Wallace Falls State Park in Gold Bar are serene and relatively nearby.
In addition to their indescribable beauty, our state parks support more than 10,000 full-time and seasonal jobs and contribute over $786 million to Washington’s economy.
