I’m so happy to share with you a great opportunity to help reduce dangerous air pollution in communities across the Puget Sound region.
The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency is offering grant application assistance through funding from the Climate Commitment Act. This help is available to community-based organizations, tribal nations and organizations, local governments and ports in King, Kitsap, Pierce and Snohomish counties.
Many low-income communities and communities of color have been impacted most by climate change. These overburdened communities will be the focus of these projects, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions that disproportionately lead to negative health outcomes. You can read much more about this program here from My Edmonds News and also visit the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency here for additional details.
This program is yet another example of the importance of the Climate Commitment Act and the work it’s doing to reduce pollution in our state. The CCA supports projects like building new ferries, new charging stations, free transit fares for people 18 and under, safe routes to school and much, much more. It is the key cog in our state’s work to make the air we breathe cleaner for every Washingtonian.
