Senate Deputy Majority Leader

Sen. Rebecca Saldaña is Senate Deputy Majority Leader and vice chair of the Senate Transportation Committee. She also sits on the Labor & Commerce and State Government, Tribal Relations & Elections Committees. Known as a problem solver and tireless advocate, she has expertise in a variety of areas including worker and immigrant advocacy, transit equity, women’s rights, social and racial justice, civic engagement, affordable housing and sustainable community development.

Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos

Chair, House Education Committee

A community activist for more than 40 years, Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos chairs the House Education committee and serves on the House Capital Budget and Consumer Protection & Business committees. Her legislative proposals reflect her advocacy for quality early learning programs, a well-trained educator workforce, and elimination of the opportunity gap. Other key policy interests include civil rights, women’s rights, economic and environmental justice, and affordable housing.

Rep. Kirsten Harris-Talley

Vice Chair, House Children, Youth & Families Committee

Rep. Kirsten Harris-Talley was elected to the House of Representatives in 2020. She has been a resident of the community she represents for over 20 years, where she has built movements for change in the areas of philanthropy, nonprofit work, reproductive rights and housing justice.
