Sen. Claire Wilson (D-Auburn), Chair of the Senate Human Services Committee, issued the following statement on the introduction of SB 5768, an act relating to ensuring access to abortion medications:

“I am a firm believer that the most unusual partners produce the most effective solutions. That is the case with the introduction of SB 5768. While the missions of the Department of Health and Department of Social and Health Services align with this type of public health effort, it is the Department of Corrections that has the central pharmacy and technical ability already in place to accomplish this task. Washington has long been a place where people can access the reproductive healthcare they need and despite inconceivable challenges, we will continue to come up with solutions to ensure that right, always.”
