Dear neighbors,
Thank you to everyone who joined my third annual small business roundtable yesterday. We heard a terrific presentation from Marie Davis of the Washington Department of Commerce that included many resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs. You can see the presentation on my website here.
A few highlights:
- StartUp Washington (also known as My Startup 365) helps people who are thinking of staring a new business to research their market, put together a business plan, and more. For any entrepreneur thinking of starting a new business, it is a great place to start: http://startup.choosewashingtonstate.com/
- The Washington State Microenterprise Association helps businesses that employ between one and five people, which are often left out of other programs: https://www.wamicrobiz.org/
- The Border Business Relief Program helps businesses that have suffered from the Covid border closures: https://commercegrants.com/working-washington-grants-border-business-relief/
- The Small Business Flex Fund provides low interest loans for expenses like payroll, rent, and more: https://smallbusinessflexfund.org/
After the presentation, we had an insightful and productive discussion about the concerns and challenges that small businesses are facing. I look forward to working together to continue supporting small businesses addressing those challenges to make the future for our local businesses even brighter.
For anyone who attended, we’d love for you to fill out this short, four-question survey.
