Sen. Steve Conway recently received the Rose Solidarity Award, an honor given by the Pierce County Central Labor Council to groups and individuals who have “performed inspiring acts of solidarity” for working people in Pierce County and throughout the state.
Conway, vice chair of the Senate’s Labor & Commerce Committee, has advocated for and sponsored countless piece of legislation during the course of his career to help all of Washington’s working families, including cost of living increases for retired public employees and better workplace safety.
During the last legislative session, Conway passed legislation to protect the rights of grocery workers and expand retirement benefits to people working in state hospitals.
“I’m proud to have spent my career working on behalf of the public servants and working families who do so much for us every single day,” Conway said.
