On Wednesday, over 1,100 people from across the state — including union members, parents, vets and workers — signed in to testify in opposition to Senate Bill 5692 that would make Washington a so-called “Right to Work” state.

SB 5692 was heard in the Senate Commerce, Labor & Sports Committee.

Sen. Steve Conway, D- South Tacoma, who sits on the committee, has been a longtime advocate for labor unions and opposes “Right to Work” legislation, which generally results in lower wages in the states in which it has passed.
