Keep reading to meet my incredible staff, learn about some of my priorities for the upcoming session, and more!

2023 session staff
The 40th District Dream Team is back in the office and excited to work with all of you on the issues you’re passionate about! These bright faces will serve as your primary point of contact for my office – they’ll be answering your calls, tracking my bills, helping resolve case work, communicating my legislative priorities, and much more. Ivy Ndambuki is my superstar legislative assistant, Antero Sievert is joining our team as this year’s amazing session aide, Brennan Miller is our incredible intern for the session, and Courtney James remains the team’s fantastic public information officer.

You can learn more about each of them by heading over to my Facebook page, and get in touch with us using the contact information on my website.

Senate Local Government, Land Use & Tribal Affairs Committee

In my first session as chair of the Senate Local Government, Land Use & Tribal Affairs Committee, I’m eager to get working on smart land use policies and other bills that will help our communities in the 40th and beyond.

At the top of my list is Senate Bill 5203, which would address climate change in state and local planning procedures to ensure we are stepping up to the plate in confronting this crisis. The policy, which I introduced alongside Rep. Davina Duerr, would be an important step in ensuring our development is sustainable, our infrastructure is resilient, and our gorgeous natural environment is protected for generations to come.

Washington has long been a leader on climate action, and the work ahead of us will only solidify our position as climate champions.
