It’s well documented that Washington’s tax structure is the most unfair in the nation.
I was proud to voice my support this year for a Capital Gains Tax and for the Working Families Tax Credit. By adopting these policies we are asking the wealthiest Washingtonians to pay their fair share, and help those struggling to make ends meet put some money in their pockets.
These steps should finally help balance a tax structure in this state that has overwhelmingly benefitted the wealthy, but there’s still work to do.

The Tax Structure Work Group is holding town hall-style meetings in every corner of our state to hear from people how Washington’s tax structure impacts them and their community. On November 3, you’ll have your chance to weigh in when the seventh and final listening session comes to our community.
