Dear friends and neighbors,

It has been two months since the 2024 legislative session wrapped up, and I have been enjoying being back in Spokane.

We have spent some time reflecting on the 2024 legislative session, and you may have received a session recap newsletter in the mail. If not, you can click here to view the newsletter and read about some of the statewide and Spokane-specific highlights from the 2024 session.

Expanding Dental Health Care in Eastern Washington

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend an event celebrating the expansion of the University of Washington RIDE Program in Spokane. The RIDE (Regional Initiatives in Dental Education) Program makes it possible for dental students to study in eastern Washington and spend part of their training time serving rural communities. These efforts will help to ensure access to dental care for more Washingtonians, and will directly benefit rural communities throughout the state. To learn more about RIDE, click here.

I am proud to have worked to secure funding for this expansion, and I am excited to see the program grow. This is just one of many new budget investments that will benefit Spokane for years to come – read the mailer above for information on other upcoming projects.
