JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:
SESSION AIDE FOR SENATOR ANDY BILLIG
3RD LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT – SPOKANE
Mission: We are looking for a future leader to join and contribute to our team as we provide the highest quality service, representation, and leadership for the people of the 3rd Legislative District.
Reports to: Sen. Andy Billig and Legislative Assistant, Kate Burke
Timeline: Full time, session-only position (January through mid-March, 2016). This position is based in Olympia.
Duties: We want you to do more than answer the phone and meet and greet office visitors. You’ll be communicating with constituents by responding to e-mail and phone inquiries, working on constituent case work and legislation, tracking the progression of bills, following committee hearings, participating in legislative strategy sessions and other duties that advance Sen. Billig’s policy goals and the interests of the citizens of Spokane.
Qualifications
-Knowledge of legislative process, general office practices, and of the 3rd Legislative District.
-Ability to determine what resources are needed to respond to any problems, questions or constituent needs. Research is key!
-Ability to communicate Sen. Billig’s vision in a clear and compelling manner.
-It wouldn’t hurt if you’re a data geek. We love numbers. You should too!
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Independent self-starter.
-Flexible and resourceful when things get really crazy!
-Good sense of humor combined with forward-thinking values.
Compensation: Salary $2317 per month. Benefits are not offered for this seasonal position.
