OLYMPIA — Sen. Claire Wilson (D-Auburn) and Rep. Jamila Taylor (D-Federal Way) hosted a town hall on March 22 at the Federal Way Library with over 120 attendees. They were joined by Des Moines Mayor Traci Buxton and residents of the 30th Legislative District.
“Thank you to everyone who joined our town hall on Saturday and the Federal Way Library for hosting us. We had record attendance, and the people who joined us represented the diverse communities and viewpoints of our district,” Wilson said. “Its critical elected officials meet their constituents where they’re at and listen to their questions and concerns. It’s clear residents in the 30th Legislative District are worried about challenges facing all levels of government, which is why I am dedicated to centering their voices in my work.”
Wilson and Taylor spoke about important steps they are taking in the Legislature to address key issues in the 30th Legislative District and Washington state. They covered topics ranging from rent stabilization to funding Washington schools and protecting social security benefits.
