OLYMPIA – Sen. Claire Wilson (D-Auburn), sponsor of the Fair Start for Kids Act, (Senate Bill 5237) released this statement following the Washington State Supreme Court’s ruling in Quinn v. Washington.
“Today’s Supreme Court ruling is a game changer for Washington families at a time when many are struggling to just make ends meet. The money that will be collected from the capital gains tax will ensure more children and families will have access to the quality childcare they need. This will allow parents to remain employed or return to work, and know that their children’s health, safety and spirit are safe within someone’s care. I am thankful for today’s ruling and the impact these new investments will have on so many Washingtonians.”
