If you can’t make it, don’t stress! I’ve got four in-person scheduled for the following week on Saturday, March 18, so we can keep connecting in real time over our neighbors’ shared questions, ideas and feedback.
📍 Bremerton: 9-10 a.m. at Olympic College
📍 Port Orchard: 12-1 p.m. at South Kitsap High School
📍 Gig Harbor: 2-3 p.m. at Swift Water Elementary School
📍 Key Peninsula: 4:30-5:30 p.m. Long Branch Improvement Club
#2: We hit our second important deadline: fiscal cutoff. The Senate Ways & Means and Transportation committees have spent the last week voting on bills that help our neighbors by making investments in housing, behavioral health, public safety, education, workforce development and more. Now we’ll spend the next couple of weeks voting on the floor and moving the best of these policies to the House. Stay tuned for updates on our bills’ progress!
#3: My first bill of session passed out of the Senate Wednesday! Senate Bill 5292 to support our passenger-only ferries is one step closer to becoming law. The bill is a good-government fix for public transportation benefit districts like our very own Kitsap Transit, which provides essential ferry services to our communities.
#4: Tan orgullosa to announce: our brand-new bicameral Latino Democratic Caucus! For the first time in the Legislature’s, we’re joining together across chambers to ensure the needs and experiences of our Latinx neighbors are represented and prioritized in Olympia. Learn more here!
#5: One of our top goals is ensuring the legislative process is not only accessible to all our neighbors but understandable. Are there any terms or procedures you want to learn more about? Let us know at the here!
