Friends, neighbors —
This 2022 legislative session we made tremendous strides for everyday working Washingtonians. We made major transportation investments to start fixing Gorst, fully fund our ferry system, and lower Tacoma Narrows Bridge Tolls. We passed significant tax breaks for over 100,000 small businesses—and continued investing in workforce development, college, and career training for the economy of today and tomorrow. We increased pension benefits for first responders, and we strengthened reproductive rights in this Washington. And this year the legislature adjourned on time for the fifth year in a row—something that hasn’t happened since 1899!
Thank you for emailing, calling, and writing to me this session. For the second year in a row, we saw a dramatic increase in community participation in providing testimony, signing in in support or opposition to bills. Your voice matters. And thank you for participating in our Zoom and Facebook live town halls, for calling and emailing my office, for talking to your neighbors about legislation. Connecting with you about what matters most is my favorite part of my job. As we finish out the year, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all my neighbors and constituents for their commitment to a forward moving 26th Legislative District.
From May 16th to the election certification in December, we are in a period of election year restrictions on official channels until after the election is certified. This means: no more e-newsletters, no more social media posts, and no new content on my website. My office will remain open, however, and if you need help with state agencies or have questions about policy please call or email. You can find my contact information below.
Honored to serve as your Senator,
Emily Randall,
State Senator
