OLYMPIA — The Senate Labor & Commerce Committee will hold a work session Tuesday on the present and future of Washington state’s social insurance programs.
The state programs covered in presentations at the work session will be unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation (industrial insurance), Paid Family and Medical Leave, and WA Cares (Washington’s long-term care benefit).
“This work session will give us insight into the current status of Washington’s social insurance programs, which are crucial for workers and families across our state, as well as projections for their future,” said Sen. Karen Keiser (D-Des Moines), chair of the committee.
The work session is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, in Senate Hearing Room 1. It will be available to watch live and as an archive on TVW here.
