Sen. Claudia Kauffman was sworn into the Washington State Senate in January 2023. She is the caucus’s Leadership Liaison to Tribal Nations, chair of the Business, Trade & Economic Development Committee, vice chair of the State Government, Tribal Affairs & Elections Committee, and a member of the Ways & Means Committee. Kauffman also serves as the co-vice chair of the Senate Democrats’ Members of Color Caucus.
A resident of Kent for over 20 years, Kauffman was previously elected and served as Washington state senator of the 47th Legislative District from 2007-11.
