The bill\u00a0is a\u00a0late addition to the committee\u2019s calendar this week as the Legislature faces a key policy bill deadline on Friday.<\/p>\n

The ‘Keep Washington Working Act\u2019\u00a0aims to\u00a0keep Washington\u2019s economy thriving, protect the state from over-reaching federal immigration policy changes, and recognize the important role of immigrants in the workplace. The bill would create model policies for limiting immigration enforcement consistent with federal and state law and would prevent state and local law enforcement from using local tax dollars to assist in performing the functions of a federal immigration officer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
