Dear Friends and Neighbors –

We just started the fifth week of the legislative session, and I want to take a moment to introduce you to our office and hear from you about the issues you care about most.

First off, thank you for your calls, emails, and visits to our office! Our team can’t best serve you without receiving your questions, feedback and concerns.

Our office has connected with many members of our community in the 48th Legislative District who are worried about what is happening nationally. I want to assure you that I am listening and will work to fight for legislation that puts you, your families, and our neighbors first. I will always be in your corner.

Our office is honored to serve you and center your voice in Olympia. Meet Mary Ann, Minh, Robert, and Bridget!

Mary Ann is our legislative assistant and from Ventura, CA. Her family is from the Southwest, with roots in New Mexico, Arizona, and southern California. She went to the University of Phoenix in Los Angeles, where she studied business. She then went to Simmons University of Boston, where she received a Master of Social Work.

Her life experiences brought her into the human services and social work field. She is excited to work in the Senate and she is dedicated to improving the lives of those who do not feel like they have a voice.

Robert Jinkins is our session aide, and he was born and raised in Bellevue, where he has lived his whole life. He went to the University of Washington and graduated with a bachelor’s in political science and a minor in math. He participated in the Husky Marching Band, playing the sousaphone, and was a member of the Theta Xi Fraternity, where he was scholarship chairman.

Robert is excited to work in the Senate because of his previous work on political campaigns in 2022 and 2024. After working in campaigns, he wanted to experience the legislative side, and gain experience in government to help improve the lives of every Washingtonian.

Minh Trinh is our office intern and from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, and has lived in Kirkland for almost six years. He is currently a senior at the University of Washington Bothell, where he is majoring in data visualization and global studies, and minoring in geographic information systems.

Minh is excited to work in the Senate because of his interest in state politics and learning the ins and outs of the Legislature. He enjoys learning about the important work we all do here every session.

Bridget Doyle Williams is our communications specialist, and she was born and raised in Seattle. She went to Western Washington University for political science and the University of Washington for digital communications. Bridget is excited to work in the Senate because of her passion for making our corner of the country a better place for everyone.

We want to make sure you know you can reach out to our office at any time if you have questions or concerns by calling 360-786-7694 or emailing vandana.slatter@leg.wa.gov. Your input is critical to my work and helps me better represent you and our community.

Many of the best laws came from constituents’ ideas, and I look forward to hearing from you!

So far this session I have been busy meeting with constituents, connecting with advocates, sponsoring 16 bills, and so much more. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates on legislation I am sponsoring and supporting this session.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve the 48th Legislative District.

Sincerely,

Senator Vandana Slatter
