Dear friends and neighbors,
It’s a privilege and an honor to connect with you through my first e-newsletter update for the 2026 legislative session, which officially started on Jan. 12. I look forward to another year of championing our communities’ priorities and representing you all in the state Senate.
COMMITTEE WORK
Session is already off to a busy start, and in Ways & Means, we have hit the ground running. As chair, one of my biggest responsibilities is working with my colleagues and staff to craft and negotiate the supplemental operating budget. We will again face very difficult choices — weighing responsible reductions, targeted savings, and efficiencies while also identifying progressive revenue options that protect the progress we’ve made and will leave our state on more secure financial footing in the years to come. I will dive more in-depth into the proposal in future updates.
You can also check out my social media, which is linked below, for my weekly video series exploring budget topics and other bills making it through the committee (watch my first one here).
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Here are a variety of helpful resources that make it easy for you to be part of the legislative process, from start to finish:
- Learn how a bill becomes a law at leg.wa.gov/learn-and-participate/how-a-bill-becomes-a-law.
- Find legislation on the issues important to you at app.leg.wa.gov/billinfo.
- Watch your democracy in action at tvw.org.
- Testify before legislative committees at leg.wa.gov/bills-meetings-and-session/session/how-to-testify-at-a-committee-meeting.
- Follow my official legislative Facebook and Instagram pages at @SenJuneRobinson.

Our democracy is at its best when everyone takes part. Your participation has always been vital to our state government, and I hope you will explore these resources and keep connected.

HOW WE CAN HELP
If you need help navigating state services — whether it’s applying for unemployment benefits, finding housing or health care resources, or resolving an issue with a state agency — my office is here to assist. We can connect you with the right programs, answer questions about legislation, and help ensure you’re getting the support you need. Engaging with state government can sometimes feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Please don’t hesitate to contact us — my team and I are here to help in any way we can.
APPLY TO BE A PAGE
The Senate Page Program is still accepting applications for 2026. Open to students 14-16 years old, this paid, week-long experience includes page school, assisting senators, and learning about the legislative process. Scholarships and host family housing are available too.

STAY IN TOUCH
Staying connected with the people I represent is one of the most important parts of this job. Your insights and feedback help shape the work we do in Olympia, and I value the conversations we have — whether it’s over email, on the phone, or in person. I encourage you to reach out, follow along for updates, and stay engaged in the legislative process.
Sincerely,
Sen. June Robinson
