Dear friends and neighbors,

With the 2026 legislative session fast approaching, I’d like to hear directly from you!

Your insights and concerns about the issues that matter most to you and your family are what guide my work on behalf of our community in the 38th Legislative District.

2026 LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES

Ensuring Access to Affordable Health Care

Expanding affordable, accessible care remains a core focus of my work each session. I’m continuing efforts to support our health care workforce, strengthen behavioral health services, and improve access to primary and preventive care. There is more to do, and I’m committed to making it easier for people to get the care they need, when and where they need it.

Safeguarding Our State’s Financial Stability

Last session, we balanced the budget with responsible reductions and new revenue to protect essential services and reserves. As the Senate Ways & Means Committee chair, I remain focused on stability and investments that support students, working families, and community health and safety. Responsible budgeting ensures Washington stays strong, even in uncertain economic conditions.

Protecting Families from Federal Cuts

Federal reductions to health care and nutrition programs are moving forward, putting strain on families, seniors, and children. As these cuts take effect, Washington must be ready to protect Medicaid, food assistance, and other core supports and ensure families aren’t left behind when the federal government falls short. Our goal is to keep people healthy, stable, and supported.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Below you will find a variety of helpful resources that make it easy for you to be part of the legislative process, from start to finish. These offer you the tools needed to testify in real time on a bill, submit written testimony, contact your elected officials, track all the policies being considered in Olympia, and more.

Our democracy is at its best when everyone takes part. Your engagement has always been vital to our state government, and I encourage you to explore these resources and stay connected.
