OLYMPIA – Following Rep. Mike Sells’ announcement that he will not seek re-election to the Washington State House of Representatives in 2022, Sen. June Robinson and Rep. Emily Wicks issued the following statements:
“I am sad to lose Rep. Sells as a seatmate. He has been a friend and a mentor to me since before I came to the Legislature. Mike has always been supportive, and I always knew that he had my back. He has worked quietly and tirelessly to address the concerns of the hard-working people of the 38th District. Mike never seeks recognition for his work, but he has a long list of accomplishments that have made meaningful improvements to public education, higher education and working conditions for the people of Washington.”
–Sen. June Robinson
“Rep. Sells has been an important mentor to me and many other legislators during his 17+ years fighting on behalf of the working families of Washington in the House of Representatives. I am going to miss his presence here and I hope to continue his spirit of mentorship with other legislators. He always had others’ interests at heart, and for that I will always be grateful.”
