Dear friends and neighbors,

The 2026 legislative session officially kicked off today, and I’m so honored for the privilege to represent you in the Legislature again this year.

I know people in our community are facing many challenges, getting hit hard with rising costs at the grocery store, at the doctor’s office, and for housing. This year I will focus my efforts to address food insecurity, increase access to affordable housing and health care, and make key infrastructure investments to move Spokane forward. While we face budget challenges again this year, I’m determined to continue delivering for Spokane.

I will continue to serve as the Majority Floor Leader during this year’s 60-day sessionThe floor leader opens the day’s proceedings, assigns bills to committees, and sets the agenda for debates on the Senate floor – ensuring that priority bills are debated and voted on. I will also serve on the Ways & Means Committee, Health & Long-Term Care Committee, State Government, Tribal Affairs & Elections Committee, and the Rules Committee.
