Dear friends and neighbors,
In my time spent outside of the state legislative sessions, I work hard to stay connected with our community and listen intentionally. We held ‘mobile offices’ again this year, and I am grateful for the conversations I had at the Emerson-Garfield Farmer’s Market and at Shadle Park Library. They help me better understand the investments our community needs and where policy action can make a real difference. I’m also grateful to see so many community projects become a reality this year. Together, we can continue to make Spokane an even better place to live and a city where all can thrive. I appreciate opportunities to meet with community partners doing essential work and serving others. Whether it’s celebrating a new project, helping hand out Thanksgiving meals, playing soccer with local refugees, or meeting with a local Cub Scouts troop, these moments are incredibly energizing.
As the 2026 legislative session begins on Jan.12, I will remain focused on delivering meaningful results for people in Spokane. My priorities include improving affordability for working families, reducing costs across essential areas of daily life, expanding access to affordable health care, addressing food insecurity, increasing access to affordable housing, creating jobs, and making key infrastructure investments that improve lives.
While we face serious budget challenges again this year, I remain determined to deliver for our community. I am honored to represent you. I look forward to working on your behalf in the New Year! Thanks for taking the time to read my newsletter. Follow me on Facebook and Instagram for more updates and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at Marcus.Riccelli@leg.wa.gov.
Happy Holidays from our office to you! It is an honor to serve you!
Sen. Marcus Riccelli
