Friends and neighbors,

We are more than a month into the 2025 legislative session in Olympia and I want to share a quick video update about my new duties in the Washington State Senate and a few of the priority bills I am working on. Click here to watch.

A tradition of Spokane leadership

It is a tradition in the Senate to hang a portrait of former Senate Majority Leaders in the Capitol after they retire, and this week it was former Sen. Andy Billig’s turn to see his picture take its place on the wall outside the Senate chamber. Having Mayor Lisa Brown—also a former majority leader—there to celebrate made it extra special. I’m excited to build on the progress they made for the people of Spokane.

Telephone Town Hall tomorrow night!

I hope you will join me and Reps. Timm Ormsby and Natasha Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for a telephone town hall. We’ll provide an update on progress we are making this session and answer your questions about issues critical to Spokane. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and you can call 855-756-7520 Ext.119801# to participate. I hope to hear from you next week!

Thanks for taking the time to read this newsletter and follow me on Facebook and Instagram for more updates throughout the session.

It is an honor to serve you!

Sincerely,

Sen. Marcus Riccelli
