{"id":2589,"date":"2020-12-28T15:00:35","date_gmt":"2020-12-28T22:00:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev2.sdc.wastateleg.org\/randall\/?p=2589"},"modified":"2020-12-28T15:00:35","modified_gmt":"2020-12-28T22:00:35","slug":"e-news-youre-invited-virtual-town-hall-jan-16-at-1100am","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/senatedemocrats.wa.gov\/randallarchive\/2020\/12\/28\/e-news-youre-invited-virtual-town-hall-jan-16-at-1100am\/","title":{"rendered":"E-news: You&#8217;re invited! &#8211; Virtual Town Hall, Jan. 16 at 11:00am"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Friends, neighbors \u2013&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After weeks of virtual-committee and virtual-floor-debate practice, after months of gathering community feedback and preparing legislation to answer our neighbors\u2019 most pressing&nbsp;needs, after almost a year of weathering this pandemic together \u2013 we&#8217;re less than a month away from the start of the 2021 legislative session!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That\u2019s why I\u2019m thrilled to invite you to&nbsp;my&nbsp;<strong>Virtual Town Hall, scheduled from 11:00am \u2013 12:00pm PST on January 16<\/strong>. This will be the first Saturday after session starts on January 11&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;so I\u2019ll be able to report back on how week #1 of virtual session has gone,&nbsp;collect more of your input, answer&nbsp;your questions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, I had a Town Hall Tour&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;meeting with neighbors in four cities in our district: Bremerton, Port Orchard, Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula.&nbsp;Our conversations helped me advance our community\u2019s values during the 2020 session \u2013 making health care and housing accessible, making higher education opportunities attainable, amplifying marginalized voices, championing direct investments in our region\u2019s infrastructure and development, making sure all our neighbors get the tools they need and deserve to build healthy lives for themselves.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Though I so looked forward to doing&nbsp;a similar town hall tour again, it\u2019s still not safe enough to gather in person. But that won\u2019t stop us from staying connected \u2013 and now that folks can tune in to&nbsp;my&nbsp;town hall (online or by phone!) from the comfort and safety of their own home, I hope that it will now be even easier to join me on January 16.&nbsp;You\u2019ll be able to set up your computer or call in, grab a cup of coffee, and join neighbors from all around the district for a community conversation.
