Bothell – The Mays Pond Playground in Bothell, Snohomish County has announced the Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Saturday, March 14
WHAT: Mays Pond Playground Ribbon Cutting
WHERE: 17730 Brook Boulevard, Bothell, WA 98012
WHEN: March 14, 2026 at 11:00 A.M.
The new playground was constructed thanks to the partnership between the Mays Pond Playground Committee, comprised of Vanessa Miewald and Barb Sleeper, the Olympus 1 Homeowners Association, which owns the park, and the Washington State Legislature.
After a funding meeting in 2023 between the Committee and Snohomish County Councilmember Jared Mead, State Sen. John Lovick (D-Mill Creek) and State Rep. Brandy Donaghy (D-Mill Creek), $650,000 was included in the 2023 Washington State Capital Budget. That money, plus a generous $60,000 donation from the Maverick Gaming owned Silver Dollar Casino-Mill Creek was used to construct a new ADA-compliant playground design to serve the children of Snohomish County.
Now, construction has been completed and the Mays Pond Community welcomes community members and press for the opportunity to see state dollars at work in our local communities.
