Dear friends & neighbors,

The atmospheric river has brought severe flooding and road closures to the 5th Legislative District. Both North Bend and Snoqualmie are facing evacuation orders. The City of Issaquah is calling for volunteers to fill and distribute sandbags to help mitigate flood damage. If you are able, please head to the Issaquah Community Center, 301 Rainier Blvd. S., to fill sandbags. Please be a good neighbor and help those who are unable to fill their own.

Residents of North Bend can fill sandbags at the North Bend Public Works, 1155 E. North Bend Way, North Bend WA 98045.

Residents of Snoqualmie can fill sandbags at the City of Snoqualmie Government Building, 38190 S.E. Mill Pond Road, Snoqualmie, WA 98065.

Road Closures

WSDOT has also provided a recent update on road closures in the district. All eastbound I-90 lanes are closed at milepost 30 where I-90 intersects with SR 202 – just before the main exit to the city of North Bend.

Highway 2 toward Stevens Pass has been fully closed at milepost 57 (just west of the Ski Resort), and officials are evacuating the ski area to the East. If residents and visitors can’t make it east, they can evacuate to Skykomish. There is also a closure on the west side of Skykomish from milepost 35 to 48.5, limiting access to the Town of Skykomish on Highway 2.

SR-203 between City of Carnation and Fall City, WA is once again closed, and SR-202 between Fall City and City of Snoqualmie Government is closed between Fall City Road and Fish Hatchery Road.

Reminder that you can check the King County Local Services – Roads, Permitting, Community Service Areas My Commute map for the most up-to-date information on unincorporated King County road closures: gismaps.kingcounty.gov/MyCommute/

And you can check the WSDOT map for the most up-to-date information on state routes and highways: wsdot.com/Travel/Real-time/Map/.

Our community remains resilient, and we will get through this difficult time together.

Please stay tuned for further updates as they become available and do not hesitate to reach out to our offices if you need any assistance.

Sincerely,

5th Legislative District Delegation
