OLYMPIA – The Senate Commerce & Labor committee, for which Sen. Bob Hasegawa serves as the lead Democrat, is the primary committee in the Washington State Senate for issues related to workers’ rights, business practices and regulation, minimum wage and other critical issues related to industry and commerce.

A number of bills were introduced into the Legislature during the 2015 session that sought to increase pay and benefits for workers in Washington state, particularly lower wage workers.
