Dear neighbors,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have just two weeks remaining in the 2025 legislative session. The Senate <\/span>i<\/span>s hard at work <\/span>sending<\/span> bills<\/span> to the governor, who has already started <\/span>signing many of them <\/span>into law<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are also negotiating the state\u2019s final operating, transportation and capital budgets. Our budget is our value statement. <\/span>We\u2019re committed to <\/span>meeting<\/span> the needs of Washingtonians and funding the services our communities, and especially our kids, count on \u2014 <\/span>this means balancing<\/span> responsible, targeted reductions <\/span>with<\/span> revenue.<\/span> A combination of reductions with revenue that helps balance our tax code will get us to a balanced budget we can all be proud of.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to thank those who attended our town hall last month. <\/span>We received many thoughtful questions, <\/span>discussing<\/span> public school funding, our state budget, fixing our broken tax code, rent stabilization, concerns about federal overreach and so much more.
