He served as Battle Ground mayor from 2020 to 2021.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Cortes moved to the 18th Legislative District when he was 6 years old and has lived there ever since.
