I worked hard to ensure this funding was included in the proposed budget so we can ensure Fire District 3 has the resources they need to keep our communities safe. These funds will be used for roof and heat pump replacements, which costs the department hundreds of thousands of dollars. I’m pleased that these hardworking folks will now be reimbursed for the full cost of these projects, allowing them to dedicate their resources on recruitment, training, and equipment, including LifePak 35 cardiac monitor replacement project.
Chief Chris Drone and Commissioner Shane Bowman visited our office in January, and we spoke about their priorities like ensuring that they are reimbursed promptly after responding to fires on state lands. I’ll always fight for our first responders to have the support they need to keep our communities safe.
