Steve Conway (D-South Tacoma) for his crucial\nsupport of partnerships that led to the development of the new Eastside\nCommunity Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The five-member Board of Park Commissioners presented Conway\nand three other civic leaders with its Parks Champion Award on Jan. 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conway was honored for advocating for the community center\nproject in the Senate and helping to secure millions of dollars in state\ngrants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSen. Conway and his civic peers were fully committed to\nlistening to the Eastside neighborhood\u2019s concerns and desires, and they worked\nhard to build support throughout the entire community,\u201d Park Board President\nAaron Pointer said. \u201cThis center is already proving to be wildly successful,\nand we could not have done it without the support of many partners. In\nparticular, we honor Sen.
