This Week In The Senate – Week 14: More floor action and another key cutoff

The 2025 legislative session is coming to a crescendo with just two weeks left and opposite house cutoff arriving 5 p.m. Wednesday. At that point, any House bills in the Senate and Senate bills in the House are done for the year, except legislation necessary to implement the budget. Floor action continues Thursday as the concurrence and dispute process begins and the two chambers will either agree to or work through any differences with amended bills.

Monday-Friday

The Senate will be on the floor all week working ahead of Wednesday’s 5 p.m. opposite house of origin cutoff deadline. Thursday and Friday will be spent working through the concurrence/dispute process. The full schedule is below:

• Monday, April 14: 10 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 5 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 15: 9:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 5 p.m.
• Wednesday, April 16: 9:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 5 p.m. (opposite house cutoff, 5 p.m.)
• Thursday, April 17: 10 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 5 p.m.
• Friday, April 18: 9:30 a.m.; 1:30 p.m.; 5 p.m.
