WENATCHEE - Educators from North Central Washington sat down with Sens. Rosemary McAuliffe and Eric Oemig today to talk about our state's education system and new efforts for public education funding and reform.![]()
Work begins on Quality Education Council 8/27/2009
The council discussed federal “Race to the Top” funding for schools this morning. The funds come in the form of competitive grants from the U.S. Dept. of Education to states who are creating the conditions for educational innovation and reform. Also, state schools superintendent Randy Dorm was elected chair of the council. This afternoon they’ll start discussion on creating a new funding system for Washington schools.

NEWS: Senate construction budget funds projects in Redmond, Duvall, Monroe, Carnation 4/2/2009
OLYMPIA — The proposed capital budget announced by leaders in the state Senate this week includes funding for a series of projects in the 45th District.
The proposal includes $2 million to pay for infrastructure for the proposed $27 million Redmond Central Square city park project. The two-acre park would be in close proximity to businesses employing 4,000 workers in downtown Redmond and the area could be home to as many as 2,000 units of new housing by 2010.
